So I’m currently rushing out the door to meet a freelance client, but I came across this new release as I was sleepily rolling out of bed. I just had to stop and try it out. It’s the new Photoshop Touch app for the iPad, and it pretty much rocks.
I hate writing about these type of things, but I wanted to share it with us iPad toting artists out there. If you want to do some edits to your pictures without having to fire up your computer, a lot of those things you can easily do here. I was able to adjust levels, work with layers, image fades, masking out images with the Magic Wand, adding multi-step effects with one tap (such as a TV signal), and a slew of other things too. I was editing a photo for my website from bed, while half asleep. That alone was enough to win me!
It isn’t without its flaws though. For instance, if you have an iPad 1, you are unfortunately out of luck. Also it only imports photos that are up to 1600x1600, so no hi-res super SLR images for now. I haven’t came across any other flaws, but yet again, I just used it this morning.
I love it to be completely honest, and it couldn’t hurt to give it a try. It’s $10 in the Apple app store.
